When Eddie Colgate was demobbed after his National Service in the R.A.F. he spent four years in the Falkland Islands as a peripatetic schoolteacher moving from farm to farm by horse. He settled back in the U.K. at his boyhood village of Henfield and taught in neighbouring Hurstpierpoint until retirement in 1998.
Since then he has used his personal experiences and interests to write a series of highly entertaining and richly informative books about people and events in the places he has lived and worked.
Eddies latest book, “Henfield’s 19th Century Egg Basket“, was published in 2020
